The most notable resource is the <a href=\"http:\/\/israelite.galileo.usg.edu\/israelite\/search\">Southern Israelite<\/a>: established in 1925 as a temple bulletin it also covered news about Jewish people from around the nation and the world. In 1934, the paper began weekly publication. One of the most significant stories it would report on was the Atlanta Temple bombing in 1958 (left). The publication continues today as the Atlanta Jewish Times. <a href=\"http:\/\/dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/cgi\/meta.cgi?query=id:dlg_vang_ctm058\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1398 size-full\" title=\"Charles Garfunkel, First Jewish Chief of Police, Savannah\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/garfunkel.jpg\" alt=\"Photograph of Charles Garfunkel, First Jewish Chief of Police, Savannah\" width=\"200\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a> The <a href=\"http:\/\/dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/vanga\/\">Vanishing Georgia<\/a> collection documents Jewish citizenry, many of whom located in small towns to operate mercantile businesses and made contributions through civic involvement, including Charles Garfunkel, who was the first Jewish police chief in Savannah (right).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Also documented in Vanishing Georgia is the aftermath of the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgiaencyclopedia.org\/nge\/Article.jsp?id=h-906\"> Leo Frank <\/a>episode, including a 1915 <a href=\"http:\/\/dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/cgi\/meta.cgi?query=id:dlg_vang_gwn150\">photograph of the <\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cialistadalafil20mg.top\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tadalafil<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/cgi\/meta.cgi?query=id:dlg_vang_gwn150\"> governor hung in effigy<\/a> after commuting Frank&#8217;s death sentence.
