Following his death, supporters established the Richard B. Russell Foundation, Inc. and they have continued to support activities that exemplify his ideals, including funding the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libs.uga.edu\/russell\/\">Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies<\/a>, chaired professorships, scholarships and teaching awards.\u00a0 Russell&#8217;s name adorns a U.S. Senate office building, the federal building in Atlanta, <a href=\"http:\/\/dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/cgi\/meta.cgi?query=id:dlg_bald_am-1978\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1690 size-full\" title=\"editorial cartoon\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dlg.galileo.usg.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/russellcartoon.gif\" alt=\"image of Clifford &quot;Baldy&quot; Baldowski cartoon depicts Herman Talmadge, Richard B. Russell, and Lester Maddox riding in a car with Ku Klux Klansmen. The car has a Georgia license plate.
